Maison Studios
Thought it might be time to talk a little bit about Maison Studios. I’ve tweeted a few links here and there but am yet to explain the idea behind it. The premise is an online, professional audio mixing and mastering service that is both simple to use and affordable.
I am currently part way through a degree program that allows me access to the knowledge needed to mix and master. The idea behind the website is to attract some business which allows me to practice my skills whilst offering this service at a discounted price.
Obviously i’m keeping costs low so i’m attempting this all myself; everything up to writing the website so it’s been an interesting process. Currently i’m looking at a summer release depending on how much I can get down between now and then.
I’m not expecting miracles but whatever I learn from this will be valuable. So far there has been a little interest and I can see it working so long as I keep the pricing right and can get it to the right people.
The next few months will be important in getting things done. I’ve already worked out about 75% of how it’ll work, there’s just some small tweaks that i’m still trying to figure out.
I’m under no illusion that this is going to work but it’ll be worth trying!

Took a pre-order gamble on the new iPad. I’ve seen them used in so many different ways which I find exciting. I’ll have a 1080p HD video camera, DAW controller, photo editor and computer for £479.
